Taking Flight is an inclusive theatre company based in Cardiff, making professional productions with D/deaf, disabled, blind / Visually Impaired, neurodiverse and non- disabled performers. All our work features embedded access, such as BSL, captions and Audio Description. We run Wales’s only youth theatre for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing young people and we’re a recent recipient of multi-year funding agreement with Arts Council of Wales, so it’s a really exciting time to get involved with our work!
This volunteer role is as a trustee on our board.
A trustee is a person who takes care of the work of a charity, making sure it meets its charitable aims and carries out everything it does in a legal and professional way.
Trustees have meetings throughout the year to check on, plan and discuss the work of the charity. Our trustees normally meet four times a year.
We are especially looking for a people with:
· Previous experience of being a trustee or chair/ co-chair of a charitable organisation
· Interest/ understanding of the Arts sector in Wales
· Passion for inclusivity and diversity
· The ability to lead on strategic and governance issues
· Experience of working in HR
· Experience in fundraising
· Lived experience of being Deaf/disabled or Neurodivergent.
