|A volunteer is required to support Citizens to set up and maintain a social group within their local community. Responsibilities include ensuring that the social group runs smoothly and regularly & offering support and guidance to the group when looking for social activities to take part in.
To provide support with accessing public transport- For example planning bus/ train routes to and from opportunities.
A willingness to support and encourage Citizens to be involved in opportunities they are attending.
To be committed to equal opportunities, safeguarding and confidentiality.
The time that Volunteers dedicate is appreciated but equally as important is the commitment associated with been flexible and reliable.
Skills and Attributes:
Flexible, patient and reliable.
The ability to encourage individuals to form friendships within the social group.
To have good communication skills.
To be able to use own initiative and to support Citizens without direct supervision.
